So far I have mixed feelings about the game. I'll let others decide.

MY cons so far.

  • Only 40 players, This is a Dice game, and Dice shows us they can do 64 players, so why the lower player count?
  • No space battles, why not?
  • Paid DLC.... seriously can we stop with this shit? If your going to charge us 20 bucks every month to play a normal MP game, make the game 20 bucks on release.

I'm fine with less players, as long as it runs almost perfect. no space battles kinda sux. and i'm so tired of all this BS DLC, games coming out with another 60 dollars worth of crap to buy on day one is money grubbing. i don't mind paying for some DLC when it's an expansion pack, but all the micro transactions in games is getting old. what happened to grinding in a game to earn and unlock extras.

We live in a world of season passes. It's really annoying. I really enjoyed the first games and agree that space battles would have been nice. However, I personally don't think you need the Heroes. I know you can turn them off in settings, but I would have been happy with Imperial and Rebel solders, each with different specializations. Think like Battlefield 4. I know that's a more realistic shooter, but everyone was on the same playing field. Heroes can tip the scales, especially if you are playing on a side that gets a hero and an idiot is the first to grab him. I guess the fact you can turn them off would appease that though. One thing I am curious to see though. How different is this from the other ones, besides game engine. It takes place on the old planets, which we already fought on, with the same old heroes/villains. I'm curious what this will have that will set it apart and bring the series to that next level. Since the trailer didn't tell us much of anything we will have to wait and see more to truly find out. I fear that this will just be the same game as the others on a new engine.

@Rexigar you might be right in the game being just the same as the old one. I'm not 100% with that, I think the game will bring a lot of improvements and but it's just like the old one with a better engine that is still good with me because battlefront 2 was amazing!
We will see it's still to early, more news/details will come out, but if I had to bet I would say it's going to be a good now :D

Not sure if it's where Rex was going, BF2 was great, but lacked. With all the classes and whatnot we have today, it could of made a great Battlefront game. Some of the longevity of BF2, was due to the lack of content. Which might end up being the same for BF.

Really Looking Forward to this game not had a decent star wars game for Ages (Except TOR). Shame about no space battles, my mate was wanting a drop ship while I provided fighter escort that's out the window now. What's this I hear about only 4 maps at launch? don't want 4 maps to start with and one free map then the rest are DLC. Can't wait till we get a gameplay trailer I just hope we don't have to wait till E3.

There is still a wealth of information we don't know, only small secrets have been released. But as of now it only sounds like a few maps, 1 free map a month later and more maps per Paid DLC.

yup, for now it's just 4 maps on release plus 1 extra with the DLC, that can be free if you buy the game before the release

Lets hope they have more maps in mind for the base game before launch cos 4 seems a bit pathetic

This is what is baffling me about this early news. They have the same technology if not better when BF4 released. It should be at minimum on par with that game and all it has to offer. i.e. Map size, Quantity of players, Game Modes, etc. It's sounding like it won't be which is pretty disappointing. But again, we will see once more information presents itself.

I dunno... I just dunno.

Let's talk about DLC...I'm not ok with on release DLC that isn't anything other than cosmetic. Games have had Expansions and Mission Packs since pc gaming was a thing, so I'm alright with DLC as an idea, if it adds valuable content and not just content that should have been fucking in it in the first place..

Onto the game. Battlefront 2 is one of my favorite games. This game, that's pretty old, using technology that's like sticks and stones compared to what we have today outshines the 'features' of this game in almost every way. Some of the larger vehicles are on the rail, small player size, no space battles (arguably the best part of Battlefront 2 and I guarantee they'll release space battles as a 40 dollar DLC at a later time), small map size, small map amount...

Hopefully if the Disney movies do well (And to be honest, I've never not liked a Disney movie), we'll be getting better Star Wars games as developers fight over Licensing and the numbers.

Well it's EA, they love their huge amount of/high price DLCs. And DLCs might just ruin the game.
For me gameplay look good and very fun and that me want to at least try the game.
I guess I'll only decide when the game is actually out.
It's still star wars, that alone is enough for me to get :-D

That footage has been around for a while on various sites. It's basically a reskinned BF4, so if you want BF4 in a Star wars setting + no recoil, it will definitely be your game.
