Ragnarok PvP

Ok Ok. This would mean we would have two live Ragnorok maps. One on the PvPvE cluster and one for PvP. I'm ok that. Remember we can only replace SE with a map that has the content. Far as I know rag is it.

Edit: also if the PvP server is popular enough to generate some donations we can cluster more servers/maps for PvP

So here's what I've got so far.

Map Ragnarok (assuming), Standalone PvP

Mods: S+

Rules: I want to keep these simple. These are based on suggestions. Any other recommendations are welcome

Basic stuff, no harassment, cheating, greifing.
Greifing = Repeatedly killing new bro's (lvl 30 and down), capturing players for an excessive/unnecessary amount of time, Killing in progress tames
Raid with purpose, no "Wiping" Bases

Rates: I want to keep these low, BUT I don't want getting raided to be so painful

1x XP
1x Taming
2x Gather
The weekend would be
1.5x XP
1.5x Taming
2.5x Gather

Gonna start posting this weekend.

I'm worried about using those mods in a PvP environment. I believe they will both hurt the PvP. Mostly classic flyers. Anyone else have an opinion on the matter? Keep in mind we can tweak things as we go along.

I agree with Sip about Classic Flyers. It really works against PvP. S+ on the other hand does allow for more wall stacking and better turret towers but I feel it should be included, simply because of the "picking up" feature and easier building.

Last month we switched out our scorched earth map for Ragnarok because SE was just dead. While we have seen some new faces, we still have mostly inactive servers at this point.

Phase two for the cluster is to disable PvP. Ive paid close attention to logs. Its seems many of the new players who have joined have left in frustration. This cluster still suffers from an identity crisis. Its clear to me now that "PvPvE" is just a failed concept. There is a very small crowd of players who gets it. We want busy servers.

So with support from our current players I would like to Switch our cluster to PvE, and Drop us back down to 2 mods as we wont need ORP2 anymore.

they basically are played by people that want a pve type game play and now that you have a pvp server, having the cluster as just PvE would be fine i think. new people coming into them do seem confused by the concept of pvpve and dont tend to stay long really. i think if they were pve people who want that game play that are new would stay. most of us that have been here for awhile now basically treat it as a pve server anyway

I understand where you are going with this, but would this disable a lot of our event ideas? Or would we simply move our PvP events over to the PvP server?

Im glad you asked. The PvE servers have built in PvP functionality. I can set up / schedule PvP times. So we would still be able to run PvP events.

Sounds like a good idea to me :) To bad our 150k ish ammo ain't getting to any use...oh well just have to make some more on the pvp server :D
